Friends,

It's great to be able to say that I have recently had a wonderful phone conversation with Mr. Giorno who has recently celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary. Isn't that ***wonderful! Congratulations to you, Mr. Giorno!

Mr. Giorno served as an educator at John Story Jenks Elementary School from 1961 through 1993! 32 years of Grade "A" service.

After that period, he also served as a substitute teacher from 1996 to 2005 in the Philadelphia Public School System.

Please see the below photograph of a young and handsome Lou Day, in the prime of his professional music career. This photograph is a a gift to us all from Victor Benvenuto '45 pictured at right in that photograph.

One thing i remember about Mr. Giorno, was the note taking we did in science class....remember blue or black ink and the underlining in red....It really did make a nice notebook...I also remember playing the bells at a winter concert on the bells......
