This is the graduation photo of the 1967 class at Jenks. Joe we
are searching for *you. Joe was the undisputed Captain of the Safety
Patrol. This was a big guy, nice guy, and the right man for the job. Joe is probably the brother of Michael Nocero '71, and Jim Nocero '60.
On Fridays, the Safety Patrol was granted something like one hour of speciall recess to play ball in the yard. On one ocassion, Joe, the pitcher
had a cigarette burning and Mr. Gershman saw it. We were in the middle of a
game and suddenly we saw Mr. Gershman (one of the best teachers- ever) walking
onto the field. Joe (with his cigaretter saw him a few seconds after I did,
and, with the widest and warmest heart winning smile, instantly extinguish it during Mr. Gershman's final steps of approach.
Mr. Gershman in his smooth quiet counseling voice that he used to correct people gave Joe a short (inaudible by others) cigarette policy of the school.
