What a wonderful surprise to find this website. I have often wondered where classmates are now.
I think Richard Hansen trying to get hold of me found that History Detectives would not release my email
address. After Jenks I went on to Penn State, then to the University of Rochester where I became the first
African American in the U.S to earn a PhD in Archaeology. Research areas are ancient Mexico "Teotihuacán
"and historical archaeology in the northeastern US.

In the 1990s I appeared in several documentaries and worked on the African burial ground project in
New York City. Jenks has always been special to me. Fond memories of teachers and classmates.
