Proverbs 30:5
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Do Not Add to God's Word
In light of this scripture, it is once again prudent to be reminded of the fact that there is only one Person who is qualified to define the Godhead, and that Person is Almighty God, Himself. Any attempt by Man to define in his own ability God would result in something less than the inspired word of God, itself, and the accuracy therein.

However, there is another question that should be asked. Are writings such as the Athanasian Creed on which the Doctrine of the Trinity is based, which defines God as,

"26. But the whole three persons are coeternal, and coequal."
... are such writings an addition to God's word? Are they Man's attempt at defining a God whose creation they cannot even measure? Is the Athanasian Creed an action in opposition to what God has proclaimed in Proverbs 30:5?
